I was young, only 12, and the amazing world of boys had only just started to bloom in the nether regions of my brain. One boy in particular, a childhood friend, caught my eye. He was one year my senior but mature for his age, unlike my younger class mates. The only problem in my budding love story was that he was to leave for Ireland and never return.
